10-Year Audit Log Retention<\/strong><\/h2>\n

10-Year Audit Log Retention<\/strong> is a paid feature within Microsoft Purview<\/a><\/strong> that allows organizations to retain audit logs for up to 10 years<\/strong> for some or all users. By default<\/strong>, Microsoft Purview Audit (Premium) retains audit logs for one year<\/strong>. With the 10-Year Audit Log Retention<\/strong> add-on, you can extend<\/strong> this retention period to 10 years<\/strong>. This extended retention period is particularly useful for meeting regulatory, legal, and internal compliance requirements<\/strong>. It integrates with various Microsoft services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Entra<\/a>, ensuring comprehensive coverage of audit logs.<\/p>\n

Licensing<\/strong><\/h2>\n

To use the 10-Year Audit Log Retention<\/strong>, you need to purchase an additional per-user add-on license<\/strong>. This is required even if you have an E5 license. This means, to retain audit logs for 10 years, the user who generates the audit log must also be assigned a 10-Year Audit Log Retention<\/strong> add-on license in addition to an E5 license.<\/p>\n

This change introduces new Frontline Worker licenses<\/strong> for this product with core<\/strong> capabilities<\/strong> for frontline<\/strong> workers<\/strong> at a reduced<\/strong> price<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
