It provides enterprise communication solutions, including instant messaging, presence, and conferencing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Skype for Business Server Update Timeline<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>Microsoft will release a Cumulative Update (CU) -CU8- for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schneider.systems\/lu\/microsoft-products-reaching-end-of-support-2025\/\">Skype for Business Server 2019<\/a> in the second half of 2024.<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft will release Skype for Business Server Subscription Edition (SE) early in the third quarter of calendar year 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>Licensing Skype for Business Server Subscription Edition<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">From a licensing perspective\u00a0<strong>Skype for Business Server Subscription Edition<\/strong>\u00a0will follow the same rules as for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schneider.systems\/lu\/microsoft-exchange-server-subscription-edition\/\">Exchange Server SE<\/a> and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.schneider.systems\/lu\/microsoft-sharepoint-and-project-server-subscription-edition-available\/\">SharePoint Server SE<\/a>: you will need\u00a0<strong>active Software Assurance (SA)\u00a0<\/strong>to use the product<strong> or buy the subscription licenses<\/strong>. The upgrade experience is identical to installing a CU.
